Week in Review 10/30 - 11/3

This week's review was written by Hayden Entress.

This week we discussed our ideas for our personal businesses with the group. We bounced ideas around the table, and gave each other feedback and new ideas. We reached out to our new Mentors and each tried to set up a lunch/coffee date with them to get to know them better.

We also moved forward in planning our up coming Investor Appreciation breakfast. Colter and Theo found the perfect venue, Olympian Hall. Maria designed the invitations, and we also placed an order at Postnet for our thank you notes.

We started creating a script for the short video we are making to show other school boards about the CEO program. Some ideas we want incorporated in the 2-3 minute video are a list of “power words” that describe CEO such as teamwork, innovation, creativity, dedication and leadership. We are each going to introduce ourselves and talk about what CEO means to us. For example, my "intro" statement is “I am a creative, free spirited young woman looking to step outside my comfort zone. Lover of the outdoors, adventurer, I love my family, and I am excited to take the next step in my life. I am Hayden Entress, and I am CEO Creative.”

It was only a three day week because of Parent / Teacher conferences, but despite the short week, all in all, we had a very fun and productive week!!

Student Journal Highlights for this week

Today we visited Moving Mountains and learned about the chalet business. Incorporating a European trend into American culture the Craigens have created a new and very prestigious choice for lodging in town. We visited different sites and learned about how important every little detail is. The biggest lesson I took from this visit is that we might not be able to control everything but we can always show that we tried our hardest.

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Routt County CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 0 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 5 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.

If you are interested in participating in any of the above programs, use our contact form to send us a message
